The Hopes of Every Child Across the City

A snow day.
Just one snow day.

we risk our lives crossing ice and sleet covered streets
because we are told to.
we trek through snow, leaves, and practically melting concrete
because thats what we always do.
alas
we wish for a day
where we could just laugh and play
frolicking in the bright white snow
one day
with no homework, quiz and test worries,
our problems drifting off in the mid-winter flurries.

and yeah, this sounds corny, but really it's true,
so bloomberg, just one a snow day, or many kids blue.
